The government has publish new guidance on using tools to submit CIS information online.

Accountants or CIS providers will no longer be able to connect the HMRC online services using SSLV3 protococal from 30 September 2015.

The guidance published on gov.uk further states that majority of customers who submit information online will not be affected by this. The SSlv3 protocol is not as secure as other online protocols and the majority of web browsers no longer support it.

Clients have been advise to have their web browser or specialist tax software configured to use ‘Transport Layer Security’ (TLS) 1.0 or above.
